Inside your report

Explore what makes you, you.

From ancestral connections to inherited traits, your report brings several areas of your DNA into one readable overview.

01 / Origins

Modern & ancient ancestry

A special focus on Native American and African ancestry, alongside your wider ancestral background.

  • Modern ancestry estimates
  • Ancient population connections
  • Neanderthal ancestry
  • Country and regional connections
  • Possible local and population connections, where supported
02 / Characteristics

Your inherited traits

Explore genetic associations that may help explain some of your individual characteristics.

  • Eye-color associations
  • Hair-related traits
  • Other inherited characteristics
  • Plain-language explanations of findings
03 / Health

Educational health insights

A review of available genetic associations, with context about what a finding can—and cannot—tell you.

  • Selected health-related associations
  • Potential risk and protective associations
  • Neurodevelopmental and syndrome-related associations, where supported
  • Limitations of the available DNA data

Ancestry findings are estimates. Town, city, and tribal or community connections are possible research leads when supported, rather than proof of an exact ancestral hometown, tribal identity, or membership. Health findings are educational; consumer DNA data cannot provide a comprehensive assessment of autism or other syndrome risks.

About iMap DNA

A personal approach
to your DNA.

iMap DNA specializes in exploring Native American and African ancestry alongside modern and ancient ancestral connections.

Your report brings ancestry research and genetic insights together in a concise format, with attention to the questions behind your results.

Ask about your report
Before you begin

A few useful answers.

Do I need to take another DNA test?

No new sample is needed for this service. You provide the raw DNA file from an existing Ancestry, MyHeritage, or 23andMe test. Ask iMap DNA about compatibility if your file comes from another provider.

Can my report identify an exact town or tribe?

When the data supports it, the report may explore possible regional, town, city, or population connections as research leads. These are not guarantees of a specific hometown and do not establish tribal identity, citizenship, or membership.

Are health findings a diagnosis?

No. These are educational genetic associations, not a diagnosis or a clinically validated estimate of your overall disease risk. Consumer DNA files cover only part of the genome and can contain errors. An association does not mean you have or will develop a condition, and a missing finding does not rule one out. Discuss health concerns and any potentially important finding with a qualified clinician or genetic counselor; clinical confirmation may be needed.

What about autism and genetic syndromes?

The report may discuss relevant associations where the available data and evidence support them. It does not diagnose autism, predict whether someone will be autistic, or provide comprehensive screening for genetic syndromes. Clinical evaluation and appropriate genetic testing are separate services.

How do I send my DNA file?

After paying $19.99 through PayPal or Venmo (@imapDNA), email the downloaded raw DNA file to dropboximap@gmail.com. Send a file, rather than your testing-account password. Only submit data you have authority to share. DNA data is sensitive; contact iMap DNA about handling, retention, and deletion before submitting if you have questions.

When does the 36-hour turnaround begin?

The turnaround begins after both your payment and raw DNA file are received. Your finished three-page report is delivered by email.
